Village of Musumba
Clean Water Project
The Congo Projects For Relief (CPR) organization is pursuing a Clean Water Project for the Village of Musumba in the Kapanga District of the Lualaba Province of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The Village of Musumba currently has a resident population of approximately 45,000 inhabitants. There is insufficient clean water (190,000 Liters/day, less than 4 liters/inhabitant) for the local population which continues to grow and is projected to approach 60,000 inhabitants within a few years. Clean water is critical to the health and welfare of the people in Musumba.
CPR has made several trips to Musumba to evaluate the current water system, to design a water system for their future needs and to build adequate water infrastructures for the village. So far only half of the 1,200,000 liters/day capacity has been achieved and the impact on the health of the villagers is significant.
The number of cases of Diarrhea and Typhoid fever has been reduced by about 80% with the installation of the new water system. Such an improvement in the health of the villagers is why the Musumba Clean Water Project is being pursued! Your support is truly appreciated. Give here.
