Hybrid Worship Starting June 20
For the past 14 months University Presbyterian Church has been gathering on Sundays for worship only online. Starting June 20, 2021, we are inviting those who feel comfortable to gather once again in our sanctuary. This is not suddenly a reversal from where we have been. It is not a return completely to how things were. Instead, we are reopening our doors as part of living out the Good News in our community. We will continue to be thoughtful and careful about how we interact with one another, keeping care to protect our most vulnerable community members (please remember that not all people can receive a vaccine, including but not limited to children and immunocompromised individuals). If you want to keep worshiping online, you are encouraged to do so. If you are looking to join us on June 20 at 10:30am, there are some restrictions that you will want to keep in mind.
- Masks will be required at all times while in the building. If you don't have a mask, we will have masks at the doors for you to use.
- Use of the building will be restricted to worship and possibly classes. We will not be serving fellowship snacks at this time.
- During songs we ask that folks hum or sing along quietly.
- Seating will be spaced apart clustering family units together.
- Fellowship time will be using space outside; you may want to bring a hat.
Online worship will continue as it has via Zoom and YouTube and it is our goal to maintain the high level community interaction on these platforms as we have had. As infection and hospitalization numbers continue to decline in El Paso (as reported on epstrong.org) these restrictions will be relaxed. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to the pastors or to your Session Members. Thank you for your continued patience and we thank God for continuing to strengthen our community and for the many opportunities to live out love, compassion and justice in our community.
