Loving God & Loving Neighbor - June 21

Come and join us for the third week of our Christian Education series on outreach.  Each of the next five weeks will feature one of our partners.  On Sunday, June 21, Light of the Village will be featured.  The class starts at 9:10 am on Zoom.

Each Sunday will feature one of our significant partners and will include the following:

  • Introduction of the partner

  • Why we support this partner and its mission.

  • What is the theological basis or background of the mission

  • How do UPC donations and volunteers help?

  • Does the partner have additional needs?

  • Questions from the audience?

Light of the Village is a front-line hands-on Christian ministry designed to share Christ’s message of faith, hope and love to the inner city, specifically Alabama Village in Prichard, Alabama, one of the most violent neighborhoods in Alabama.  The ministry was started almost 20 years ago by Delores and John Eads, originally from El Paso.  See this video for a brief presentation.

See also this longer video on Alabama Village which aired recently on Alabama public television.

On Sunday, June 28, our partner Center Against Sexual and Family Violence will be featured.

Come learn and bring your questions!
